Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

I felt these layoffs coming two weeks ago. What happened with some big level execs like Steve Daheb? Then more higher ups and people in lower

levels have been suddenly disappearing and goals kept changing. I already have been interviewing.

The biggest clue was getting a review below 3.0 with completely made up crap. That was the clue!!

if you got a shitty review, that was a manager thinking they could save themselves selfishly. i have been told that nobody forced them to write bad reviews...so anyone that was not honest with their employee ratings just goes to show how shocking some so called managers are. to captain tesla and his team of clowns, you are a disgrace for the actions of the past week. never seen so many crushed so badly even before the first layoff - disgusting. you might want to read what the words dignity and respect actually mean before spouting them in your messages. one day they will learn that having huge bank accounts means nothing when they are hollow inside as human beings. there were ways to save money without resorting to this.......they just chose the easy way out

Anonymous63260 don't blame a manager for following shitty orders :(

blame captain tesla and his dream team of misfits for mismanagement of money and resources. if him and his henchman really believe that citrix is one big happy family, why not sell your stocks and pump it back into the company to help keep your "family" employed, right?!

but seriously, at the end of the day we're living in ruthless capitalism (which I'm all for btw) and profits and bottom line are king! i just with they didn't piss on us and call it rain. we all know we're expendable and i'm ok with that. just don't sell me this "family" BS with your corporate citizenship BS values of mutual respect and bla bla bla... nauseating...

In Reply to Anonymous 396: you sound like a manager; aren't you supposed to be fair to the people whose performance you evaluate? How can you sleep at night knowing that people on your team that had been working their asses off were not evaluated fairly? You proved your loyalty? To whom? SHAME ON U! Yes, you WERE given a test, and you did not pass it, as far as I am concerned!

i was given bad ratings as a developer in 2009 even though i was kicking ass and taking names; it didn't add up, so i started looking for a new job when the layoff happened. was lucky to find something quick.

this time however i'm getting between 97-99 on my "goals" consistently for MANY quarters in a row. who knows...

I don't completely buy the interview thing. My reviews have always been around 90% or above. Same as this year--I actually did BETTER than I expected to. Then again, I consider my boss to be the best manager I've ever had in my entire career. Sadly, my boss is probably just as much (or more) of a target than I am.... Now I'm unsure if the raises/etc may make me a BIGGER target.

in 2009 it was month pay plus month for every year of service. not sure if there was a cap... i've heard some guys with 15+ years in walked away with a ton of $$$,$$$. hope this time it will be the same or better :)

Anyone know what the severance packages consist of? What if you are already booked for pre approved travel?

Hey Developer folks, I work in a different job function (can't say) so I don't know which recruiters to send to you since it's not my forte. Sorry.

As far as reviews, don't be surprised if your bosses were told to do them and they are being given a test to see if they should stay or not. We are all targets.

yea, i'm a developer (not the OP, i'm the second poster form the bottom). always had my CV up to date, so it was just a matter of reigniting old connections. get on with some recruiters, they can be able to help as well. call your friends in other companies, ask for a favor, a hold over job in case you get canned.

that was the case for me in 2009. despite my excellent performance my review didn't make much sense... i knew something was up.

this time around it takes me completely by surprise. i've started arranging interviews day after the announcement, hope i'm not too late to the game. even if i survive the cut i'm outta here...
