Heard they started on us this week. Is it temporary or long term? I don't want relive the 80's!

It could be considered temporary if you had a good review (3 or higher). Meaning that you have the option to apply for another role when the market picks back up. These cuts wouldn't be happening if leadership thought there would be a quick rebound. The merger makes it worse for overlapping roles.
Hang in there buddy, this may be even worse than the 80s. We will have a choppy year or two here.
