i'm one of those who may get affected too... ...first i heard it's flattening and management. a while ago i've heard very scary phrase: "across the board". they are after cost saving, i'm sure salary will be a determining factor. but why the wait? perhaps they don't want the repeat of the same screw up from 2009 when, at least in Ft.L., the list was a political cleansing rather than a sensible selection, so perhaps the higher ups gave the order, but want to review the names before giving a go ahead. do you think a VP will fire his useless director buddies, or will go after highest paid developers. an no, nobody is doing any work. my floor was dead silent all day... people mindlessly staring at walls with terror in their eyes.

And of the rumored IBM layoffs happen (combined with all of the others in the works), there are gonna' be a huge number of senior engineers asking "Would you like fries with that?" all over the country real soon...
You obviously haven't looked at the job market in Florida for IT. Basically, it is non-existent. And it's pretty widely known (including amongst our customers) that most Citrix TECHNICAL employees are at the top of their game. Most technical positions lat get laid off in Florida will probably have to leave the state to find employment.
you clueless or something? we're talking S. FL. job market right? citrix being the best there is basically: pay, benefits. now imagine a whole bunch of useless directors and managers who grew out of testing because they weren't good enough to do development. promoted into 200K+ salaries based on peter-principle and buddy buddy clicks who protected each other for years. would you want to be that Sr. Director with no clue how to manage nor code nor test looking at a possibility of a layoff in the worse possible IT market on the east coast?!
terror? why?
