Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

The time has come. We are going to be re-evaluated again. They are changing up the evaluation sheets the PLs conduct on us. They are now scoring us. I wonder what that means? Fire us if we are not posting a substantial announcement? Why are they always on our asses! Why doesnt management look at their own, like the PD.

Steady yourself and wait for the tide to come down. Any adjunct should already be looking for another job if you want to continue teaching online because the way enrollment is dropping a lot of adjuncts won't have a class to teach.

As far as full time instructors, just wait it out and keep up with the minimum requirements.

We all know the deans, PD's, and PL's are just covering their asses with these initiatives and regularly hounding us hoping to hang onto their positions or a job.

360 "poop coming down the pike"?!? Let me guess, you were a K-12 teacher before you decided to instruct at CCI? It's important that we know because someone like that isn't likely to have a rational, business person's view of reasonable change and employee responsibility.

After that fool ahole went public blaming instructors for student fsilures, I quit. Now I am at a non profit and making double per class. And it's NOT on us when students fail. But, I've lost only one student this term, so there is no outreach. You can get out and get a new job. You can. I did it and you can too. Stop drinking the Kool Aid and start being respected for your abilities and education. You deserve it.

I'm in the same boat. All of that 360 that you stated plus they treat us like inept children instead of professionals. It's patronizing. And being micromanaged to death. Moving up deadlines and hounding us up until then. Instead of letting us be accountable and dealing with the consequences they email and IM us to death in an absolute panic out of fear for how they'll look. The fear in their voices and in their communication is rampant.

Other employees have no idea the poop coming down the pike. It's been brutal. Daily scrutiny, sometimes multiple times a day. They are always on us to be more, bigger, better. Introducing new initiatives when we we can't even keep up with the current. Capricious changing of the Faculty Handbook. The job has become an unbelievable nightmare. Yes, I know. It's a choice. But for those fellow employees in other departments who think their area is bad, just know it's company wide. And our department is an absolute panic. The trickle down is unbelievable. The funny thing is, the Deans, PDs, and PLs really think any of this will make a difference and that they're safeguarding their jobs...the only thing it's doing is demotivating us and burning us out fast!
