I'd like to throw out a challenge to my Socle brothers and sisters. Can we agree that if the deal goes through and DS is still in charge that it's obvious that it's going to be the same old same old? Can we commit to taking quick action to get the word out to the media that Zenith is going in a very bad direction? Financial aid is an area that ECMC will not want to mess with (at least if they have ANY common sense). Let's force ECMC to get us into compliance if they will not do that of their own volition. We owe it to our profession, the taxpayers, and the students.

304: Not CCI HR, but I'll bet Zenith/ECMC HR won't be so tolerant!
Hostile work environment...DS has created a hostile work environment. Aren't those the right buzzwords to get HR involved
It's me again. just dropping by on my break to mention DS again. He checks this site literally every 5-10 minutes, even in meetings. There is nothing on Earth as funny as when someone takes the mickey out of him and he loses it! Hey DS - you represent EVERYTHING that's wrong with CCI. You are an arrogant, lazy, ignorant incompetent that absolutely nobody who works for respects. You confuse common piggy greediness and lack of social skills with business acumen. Regulations are to be gotten around, people are to be yelled at until they make you more money, and you probably walk around surprised that "bizness" turned out to be so damn easy! Good luck in the job search, cuz you're really gonna need it!
242/247/250: maybe the best way to make sure you get heard is to copy your letter, email, etc to a number of different parties with different agendas (ED, OIG, state AGs, concerned members of Congress, and of course lots of folks in the press). Don't blind copy. let them know that someone might be coming back to them and asking how they handled the complaint.
242 -- Agreed. From the Inspector General Website: "Not all complaints filed with the OIG will generate an investigation, audit or inspection by the OIG. Matters may be referred to another office within the U.S. Department of Education or to an external entity as appropriate." I think whatever we send is forwarded to ED and they don't even read them. When you have documentation, you need to send it to a specific official at ED. You can get contact info for a lot of them online or from the hand-outs at Fed Title IV and NASFAA conferences. Even if it's not the right person, they will forward it to someone who will at least read what you've written.
Anonymous61242 -- OP is saying to go to the press, not ED. ED staff are political appointees. They don't like to rattle any chains. The pressure is coming from AGs, specific members of Congress, and the public. We give them what they need to force ED to take action through the media.
204, do you know how many times I have written my complaints (including where the bodies are buried) on the ED site? More than a dozen. I have never received any response. ED is just as complicit as everyone else, and perhaps criminally so.
Anonymous61216/OP: Ha ha ha! You're right. At Socle being female and having an office puts you in a pretty exclusive little group!
212 -- I'll give you a pretty big hint about my identity. I'm female and I have an office. I don't think it would be a good idea to narrow it down any further.
OP: I wish I knew who you are! As usual, DS has already blown a gasket from reading this site, he can't help himself. You have completely ruined his day and it is absolutely f***ing hilarious!
Socle's days are numbered one way or another. Look for other work and collect documentation as you go. Just jotting down names of students who were rushed through even when there were issues like conflicting information or incorrect verification documents. Appeals that were rubber stamped, etc, etc. Turn them into ED when you leave and have a clear conscience. If ECMC didn't have the common sense to remove all of Socle's management and re-assign the reps to the campuses, then ED will be able to go back in and show that the deal failed to serve its function. ECMC is supposed to be clear that it will not be business as usual.
Scroll down on the main thread and read thread 60421.
Fair enough, OP, fair enough. If Hawn and his group can't get anyone better than DS in to oversee something as potentially explosive as Title IV, then they obviously need a push. I'll be happy to oblige!
Whistleblower protection (from Dept of Ed IG website): "If you are an employee of non-Federal entity that receives U.S. Department of Education funds who has been reprised against for protected whistleblowing, you may be entitled to relief under the Section 1553 of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) or Section 828 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2013 (NDAA). Please see below for additional information about your rights under ARRA and the NDAA."
OP -- I'm in. I'll write something up this weekend and put a few emails together. I'm still hoping things get better, but if they don't I want to know I at least tried to turn it around. No bad karma for me.
61193 -- first comment from managers? I guess they've had their first cups of coffee now and are logging in for the day, at least on the East Coast.
No
maybe someone could mention mh and his "nothing in writing ever" bs. that shit pisses me the hell off.
