So, here is what I heard, it might be all fake or not true but this is the rumor that I heard. The IT group will reorganize around 3/1/2015, some groups will be merged and this will require that we let go off some managers, now the rumor has it that it will mostly be on the networking side but I am not sure. Secondly, the rumor has it that UBS will be outsourcing even more IT operations and we can wait and see what happens here. It looks like the target date for this 6/1/2015, so again, just a rumor and not sure if it's true. All of this affects the US only.

Everyone is leaving and going to Morgan Stanley at least the smart ones are after they had UBS pay for their schooling.
I do not think we will have layoffs anytime soon
You never know what's going to happen and when UBS will cut. I have been with the company for about 11 years now, I can give you a piece of advice. Ignore all layoff rumors, it does not matter what you hear, 2015 cuts, 2014 cuts, whatever. You need to focus on your work, always do the best possible job and ignore all distractions. This will help you. Being concerned about what will UBS do and when will UBS cut resources, is it going to be London, or Hoboken, HR, Finance, contractors, or whatever, it really does matter. You will be selected if you are selected and there is nothing you can do aside from being really good at your job so they want to keep you. That's pretty much it, otherwise, you'll just worry and your work life will be miserable, you'll start to hate both UBS and layoffs and you will hate yourself. So, focus on work and ignore rumors.
How many will be let go?
This is a load of bull
I do not think your dates make sense. Seriously, if they are directing reorg from the top, you'd see things change around quarter end dates, not random dates like 3/1 which might not mean anything. Just my two cents here, UBS is notoriously unpredictable here so I would not be surprised if your prediction is fully accurate.
