pending law suit

Employees in California were sent via mail, an option that we can or cannot be included in this law suit. It was re: lunch breaks and working 10am-10pm back to back with no break at all... I cannot find the firm that is handling this case! Does anyone happen to have that information? i recall it was a firm in Santa Ana\Orange Co area? any info would help!! thank you!!!!

There's actually a pretty solid case. Also, I suspect, why online instructors in CA suddenly had to start filling out time sheets a year or so ago, when before we never did. That's part of the violation. We were considered hourly employees but our hours were never really accounted for.

Shifts outside OSHA requirements? What does OSHA have to do with this?

Baloney. There is plenty of case. The lawsuit deals with instructors working hours for which they were not paid, as well as working shifts that are outside OSHA requirements. That definitely happened.

Nothing will come of it because there is no case ( at least at Heald).

The mail actually came from Corinthian's lawyers and was aimed at getting to you opt out of the suit. If you do nothing, you're part of the class action. (I called the other attorneys after receiving it, and he was not optimistic that anything would come of it, mostly because Corinthian has no money.)
