Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

Brown Mackie

I stumbled across this website several weeks ago, but I haven't seen any comments regarding the Brown Mackie campuses. Does anyone know if we are looking at another round of layoffs?

Im a student at BMC or was, I just threw in the towel the other day and could not take it any longer. They put so much stress on their students as they are teaching scared and are worried, It really shows. Its a shame because they do have some good programs but they hire subject matter experts off the street to teach it. That is good but they are not college professors and do not understand how to teach and evaluate people. They treat you like you work for them and they are paying you or something. It just ruined the whole learning experience.

Don't know about layoffs but I do know that most BMC campuses are connected to ACICS through AI Phoenix, so monitor what happens to them. This is a matter of public record so look up all EDMC schools by OPEID to see how they are grouped. I do know that BMC has not been mentioned in forward-looking discussions about combining schools under new accreditation. All the other brands have been mentioned. I also know that BMC corporate leadership in Cincinnati is probably really involved in fantasy football right now like they are every year so don't expect any advocacy from them. Most of the leadership in BMC corporate is made up of people who washed out as campus presidents and got promoted.
