Heald Fires Military Veterans

We should not let Veterans Day go by without remembering that unqualified "managers" at Heald were allowed to fire a veteran earlier this year. That veteran, by the way, is an executive at a Fortune-100 company and Heald was incredibly lucky to have him teaching our students, and the falsified reason for the termination is that he called out a Heald "manager" for incompetence. JO, Matt and Nancy, you will hear more about this.

Oh, sure. We were fine. We had to resort to for-profit (toilet-level) status, and even then our accreditation was on probation because of financial mismanagement. Everything was fine. Just fine. Then, along came CCI. Would Heald already be history if CCI had not bought us? There is a good chance it would.

I hope these problems are limited to that campus. I don't know which one it is. it there is nothing like that going on at my campus. We wish we could sign up more veterams.

A good point about bad managers is that the worst managers almost never realize that they are bad managers. There is a self-delusion going on. They think that just because they were hired to manage people, they must be qualified to do so. Not so.

OP, wasn't that instructor also over 40 and replaced by someone under 40?

The VA sure thinks Heald is anti-veteran. --

http://www.news10.net/videos/news/local/2014/07/03/12126135/ -- So does the Attorney General of California. She claims Heald "targeted" vulnerable veterans. This is old news, but some on this site seem to be oblivious to the truth of these charges.

Re the comment about Heald management, the poor management at Heald predates CCI's purchase by many years. Poor management is the main reason Heald ended up as a pawn in CCI's bigger scam.

Ok, let's tell it like it is. An unqualified Heald "manager" retaliated against a United States veteran who called the "manager" out for her poor "management" tactics. When the lawsuit is filed, it won't just be the first names that are called out. The full names of those responsible will be made public. Updates to follow.

Let's not forget that there are always at least two sides to every story, and what we are reading is the OP's version, or at least their interpretation of it. I do not now the specifics of the situation, however, I do know the people that the OP called out and I have to say that it offends me. These are good people and the implications of the post are not accurate. The OP is making it sounds like Heald is "anti veteran" which is infuriating and frankly just a load of crap. I do not know the instructor that is being referenced in the post, however, just because someone is a veteran does not necessarily mean they will be a good instructor. Now, I am NOT saying that the instructor referenced was good or bad because again, I do not know the facts. What I am saying is that realistically there were other reasons that this instructor might have been let go, none of which, I am sure, had anything to do with the fact that they were a veteran.

Poster 321 stated, "Poor management and a lack of leadership got Heald where it is now, which is circling the drain. Nothing is surprising any more, no matter how poor the decisions made by Heald managers are." Again, this is bullshit, it was not poor leadership decisions made by Heald that got us in this position, it was poor leadership decisions made by CCI, so let's just tell it like it is.

Poor management and a lack of leadership got Heald where it is now, which is circling the drain. Nothing is surprising any more, no matter how poor the decisions made by Heald managers are. Maybe some of the attorneys who read this board will be interested in representing a United States veteran who was wrongfully terminated by Heald.

So Heald is anti- veterans? Wow!!! That is disgraceful. We should contact WACS and ED about that.

That's typical of a low-end company that cannot afford to hire competent management. I know who you are referring to, OP, and if it is any consolation, that person is SO much better off not being associated with this polluted organization. Right, JO?
