Thread regarding SAE Institute (formerly the School of Audio Engineering) layoffs

Does anyone know the roll out schedule of the Music Business program at each campus? Or will we be laying off MB faculty?

We have been in the dark and hear that it may not happen or we may get rid of the program.

51711 - Thank You! This site, though some of the rants, has also proven to be the best way to get information rather than going to corporate.

it could be state approval that some campuses are waiting on. All new programs have to be approved by the state and then ACICS and then Dept of Education. That can take a long time. Go to the website for your state, find SAE and see if the music business program is there. If its not listed there then the campus hasnt gotten approved yet to offer it.

But we are waiting on all the other campuses. What's the deal?

The music business program is running at Chicago and Nashville. Look at the website. They have students enrolled both places and already had graduates. Its been around a while.

I think the MB program is on hold until finances are more in place

I think the hr manager knew his bad she is... Just didn't care. But now that her ass is on the line, she's trying. Things is, she's just not very nice to deal with

Sad state of affairs Navitas/SAE when your employers have to come to an internet site to get answers that YOU refuse to give. Sad state of affairs when the HR Director wants to change her ways because she found out how bad she really is on an internet board like this.

Chris Davie was announced. In the most pathetic, unappreciative way. There were like two lines about him in an attached email by HR announcing all the new hires in bold. And then somewhere hidden was an "oh by the way... Chris resigned, thanks for your years of service". Dude put in a decade to SAE. And that's the send off he gets? I worked with him for seven years and knew he worked hard. Even when we argued or disagreed, I still respected the guy.

This is how I found out about the layoff in its entirety. They didn't announce most peoples departures.. Those who communicate with all of the campuses... Bill Smith, compliance, Fernando, placement, Matt Ross, Chris Davie, I'm probably missing a ton.

Nope. That's why I come here. I probably will find out through here whether or not I had been laid off! HR doesn't communicate, though I hear she is playing nice now and trying to save face, saying that she was under staffed which is why she couldn't return any phone calls or respond to emails. It's funny how people try to recover when they have been outed. Our campus sees right through that and you can't just pretend that the last two years didn't happen. She made her bed, now she has to lie in it.

It's a sad state of affairs when employees have to come to a message board to try and find out answers that would normally come from HQ Miami or campus directors.....am I the only one that realizes how strange that is?
