You heard it here first, but soon coming to a campus/CSC/call center near you. Shredding, deleting, etc etc of all non crucial data. If it's not needed for current ops, bye bye incriminating evidence.

We're seeing a cleanup here at Socle. They may be saving emails, etc, but there are a lot of things being checked to make sure they match, and changed if they don't. For example, we often retroactively remove a student's attendance records (for some financial aid reason, not my area) and we are checking to make sure that none were missed. It's "make everything match!" time here.
BOO YAA, Board Hijacker. I'm in IT as well and can verify what you are saying. The OP has been discredited!!
We are on a legal hold for any and all documents. If they are indeed doing that, they are in breach of the legal requirements.
So OP you may want to ask about the new CER about the new CampusVue database server to hold all the data separate from the current CampusVue production servers for legal. Just ask Andrew he will let you know about it.
So what? That's always going to happen when a new company takes over. Clean slate.
Really?
BTW, I'm the OP and I'm CSC Santa Ana. "Data cleanup" is the new catchphrase to be discussed on all director-level calls.
