I am a fairly new faculty member. My reviews have been good. I was told not to expect classes for the next term. Is this normal? Do you get classes sometimes and then not at others? Thanks for any sort of information on this. I have not been able to get much information from management.

It really doesn't matter whether anyone posting on this board is optimistic or not. The majority who post here have no confidential information about the status of a sale, and I seriously doubt anyone who has confidential information would run the risk of the serious ramifications that would occur if confidential information is disclosed.
601 - it's nice to see some optimism around here! I too feel that everything will work out if we just hang on a bit longer and let this play out. Thank you for your post!
This is absolutely normal. When enrollment is down there are fewer classes that can be assigned to faculty. Full time faculty are the first to get classes. Also the October quarter is our third lowest quarter for enrollment. January is our second highest and being after the sale and things improve, enrollment should start going back up. Hang in there things are about to get better.
Is it normal for colleges to close?
Seriously. Not an employee.
"Under siege"? It's nothing they haven't brought on themselves. When Heald stopped worrying about educating students, and instructors and PDs started caring more about covering their ass and making sure large numbers of them passed, it invited government scrutiny. Why do you think students aren't able to get jobs doing anything more than they had been doing before attending?
Um, OP, did you notice Heald is under siege? It is a shock that Heald has any students at all. What about this situation would you consider "normal" and why would you think your reviews have much to do with the number of classes?
Did you contact your manager about this? You should.
Enrollment is low therefore not as many classes...
