Haven't you heard? Academics has been merged with Student Services. Some may teach, but are required to act as SS Bots at all times. It doesn't matter whether you were faculty, PD, PL, Dean, etc. Your tracking chip will be implanted the next time you check your email. Good luck in the future.

Joyus: Giving two weeks "notice" of a layoff is actualy a morally decent (although very minimal) thing for CCI to do. Suprising..... 200: I think see your point now. Being laid off = unemployment. Resigning = no unemployment. Makes sense. Careful - volunteering for a layoff may be construed as a resignation. Sounds obvious, but I've people do crazier things in this kind of environment.

Yes, 189 you are correct, no severance, but of course I didn't expect a (basically) bankrupt company to pay severance so again, no big shock there. Last day will be the 24th. The two weeks notice was nice considering the big picture

This is true. I got my call a couple of hours ago. I can't really complain since I hated the job anyway. I never realized when I took the job I was being hired as a "phone harasser". It was a good paycheck while it lasted. No love lost.
