This is a multi million dollar company and they are dealing with their cash flow and liquidity problems by printing double sided, taking away creamer and paper plates, and now advising employees to Puh-lease pretty please use direct deposit so they can save on printing and mailing? I don't know anyone who doesn't use direct deposit already. Cci wide, how many employees can actually switch from paper to deposit, and how much money does that save? Seriously, they're just scraping for pennies to make it week to week. Per the email from JW, I emailed MV to ask if this was truly a "policy" and where I could find said policy (JW refers to it as a policy at the very bottom). Haven't gotten a reply yet.

Wait, students will receive their laptops in week four of a six-week mini term?!? Holy Cow! And apparently we're not paying security? Seriously, this could get ugly. When this started they should have dropped the whole "free" laptop scam. Students already have computers, but they are dang sure going want to get their promised freebies!
They're still giving laptops? If they aren't sending them out, that means they can't pay the vendor. If I were a student, that would piss me off.
33701 - I agree that CCI has turned poor management and poor leadership into an art form. I assume you are actively looking. It is unlikely that the environment will improve, so your clear choices are adapt/adjust/accept, fight to change the status quo (good luck....)or leave. If it helps you to vent here, go ahead. If you vent without acting, then you choose to accept what ever comes your way.
33678 & 33693: It's not so much about keeping us in the dark if they have info. It's the attitude that we're idiots and can be lied to and avoided and will keep working diligently. I swear at Socle our managers have almost stopped working entirely (they never have much) while cracking the whip on the staff. They walk around socializing and laughing, belittling anyone who shows concerns over our company's situation, and then yelling at anyone who takes more than one bathroom break or took two sick days within three months. I don't know what the atmosphere is on the campuses, but here it's degrading and abusive.

33670 - What do you want management to tell you? The status of negotiations with potential buyers? The date CCI will need to file bankruptcy if no sale occurs? The schedule for layoffs? Even if front line management knows these things (unlikely), they are prohibited by SEC insider trading regulations from discussing any of that - and more. While executive management has prove to be sleazy and incompetent, tha=e are not going to risk prosecution just to keep you informeed. Understanding that a lack of comunication is frustrating, don't expect anything. Have you read the 8k, press releases and operating agreement? Lots of data there....

I learned yesterday that laptop request for the mini-term that started a week ago will not be placed until mid to late next week.. which means students will receive them sometime around week 4.. just in time to catch up :) before week 6...whoohooo...
How about you grow up, get a bank account and just do direct deposit? It is 2014.....
It's kind of funny if you ask me. We're being told "business as usual" while mgmt walk around humming and acting all cheery. Nothing to worry about! Then we get our pay cut 10%. Then we don't have the supplies we need to do our frigging jobs. Then we get emails begging us to help them save a few pennies. Is there any strategy at all in terms of communicating with employees? Are managers really just allowed to lie and withhold info and avoid questions?

There is a BIGGER reason then saving paper. It is extra time in the bank so they can save more money.
