As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline costs and reduce expenses, we’re strongly recommending that all employees begin receiving their compensation via direct deposit. We strongly urge those of you who have not yet chosen direct deposit to do so by Sept. 19.

I agree with an earlier post that it has something to do with interest and keeping $ in account as long as possible. All our funds come from students and whatever interest they make on money in bank.
