We lost alot of assistants that day... :( Seems like it got a lot worse much quicker after that.

Lost my job that day after 21 years of blood sweat and tears. Not even a thank you. Just read a statement from a sheet of paper. Then walked to the door like a criminal. Still haunts me today. I loved my job, and worked my butt off everyday. I drove service plans, merchandised like a mad man, offered free PC checks, drove quality checks, kept a clean and well run tech center, and made sure the store was clean, well stocked, and well signed. Pushed my team to put out the freight in a fast and efficient manor. Plus executed the MOD program when the CSM was not on. I coached better ways to sell PRPs, CPPs, tech services, end point virus protection, and onsite set ups. Loved my job. But now feel bitter about the company and the people who let me go.
A sad day, followed by countless more sad days since.
Replace the AMs with much, much, much, much, much lower paid supervisors to do the same job?!? Genius!! No wonder Staples is excelling right now! Look how well they treat their employees! #innovation #tomorrowsleaders
