Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Why are west coast stores part of the closures?

I know the supply chain and distribution logistics are a bit more inefficient over here but I just was told on a hush hush basis that over the next 2 years our west coast footprint is shrinking considerably. Apparently most early closures o thin the northeast market and now they're targeting stores with higher operating costs. It's not our fault rural markets cost more to get product on shelf and that corporate is striving for showroom stores. I can't stand this company.

Any idea which Los Angeles stores will be closing? When will the closures start happening? How much advance notice will the employees get?
