Mark my words, 2015 will be our worst year on record. We have been living off past investments and shift towards services helped us stay afloat from the cash flow perspective. But now, Hewlett-Packard is not going to be able to avoid catastrophe any more and next year we will see a lot of layoffs with business shrinking, it'll be hard to reverse this course. Just look at the segments not performing well, you will see who will be hit the hardest next year. HP had many chances to turn things around but we were unable. The executives are just looking at their bank accounts to grow, nobody cares about the worker and the company. It's shame, but HP has fallen so low nobody can help us now.

You guy's making big money and bonuses, did you ever though about families that has no chance to pay even their rent? Why not move those employees or give them at least 3 month check to survive, instead of one week notice! They worked for HP and they believe to HP and now what? HP just kick and kick off.
I can't anymore trust to US companies, managers are silly and have no vision, in most companies just politics. That is truth, future for those companies are dead
HP says they are going to save 2 billion by laying off 30,000 employees. Not considered in the equation is how much revenue will be lost when the services provided by those 30,000 employees are no longer there. I think that the lost revenue will far out strip any savings from the layoffs. The bottom line is you shouldn't hire an individual unless that person is going to make you money. Having a bunch of people sitting around and not making you money is a strong indication of bad management practices. In that case it is the management that needs to go instead of the employees.
Layoffs have become necessity to protect jobs of incompetent executives and Managers who have filled their pockets - and continue to do so
at the expense of the working hands - they hold the system and the company to ransom - they are the last ones to go after sacking many of the skilled people,
since they invent ways to justify their existence.
Hope the CEO understand the predicament of having these long time whales in the company running the show
@Anonymous57356 - we may have a 'better' year but it's not a good year. Also, we are laying people off every week, we do some hiring but overall we are shrinking in size and this will continue to be an issue for everyone as the company is maturing and it's not about growth any more.
We have a very good year so far.
We'll have a busy year, we'll be working long hours and management will work overtime plotting layoffs for us who make money
Why do you think 2015 will be bad? What information do you have and what's your track record with predicting layoffs? On the contrary, I think the US economy will do pretty well in 2015 and that we'll have a fairly good year.
I also think that 2015 will be a pretty bad year, they just announced the split, but let's wait and see when the cuts will be taking place.
