Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Executive Buffoonery

For those hoping and praying for good news: It is much more likely that there will be continued bad news releases and highly unlikely that any good news will erase 5 - 10 years of executive buffoonery. How exactly has the CCi exective team convinced you that they can operate this circus beyond another 30 – 60 days before its ultimate doom? No, I’m not short but incapable of mustering any thread of confidence in the goons and thugs that run this scam. I have reposted this from a financial message board hoping to obtain some local flavor. Call me a troll if you are not capable of a thoughtful response to the slightly inflammatory question above. For I am indeed a troll, with some insight.

It doesn't look like anyone thinks they have the ability to stretch this past 30 - 60 days.

Well they did cut pay and said they would sell assets but those are short term survival efforts and too little, too late in my opinion. And I haven't seen any sweeping layoffs. There are no new sources of funds. So I'm not seeing or hearing any long term survival leadership from this crew. And I don't think there will be another investor call to shed any light on Jack & team's strategic vision for the future. They can easily get an extension on their fourth quarter/fiscal year end earnings release. And it's not high on their list.

Anonymous29555- Did you forget about the 8-K filed on August 13, or did that wear off already?

I have some good news for everyone. There has not been any bad new in the last few days.

During the next investor call I'd like to hear two things addressed: 1. Why is the level of cash so low (cash has dwindled from over $200M to $28M), and 2. Why is the student population roughly half of peak. If we start with those two issues, the rest should fall into place. The whole "cost savings measures" of layoffs and bringing the lead system in house obviously hasn't been enough. If Jack comes out with a plan to increase cash and student count, then I'll have some hope. The "business as usual" strategy seems to be driving the company ever closer to bankruptcy.

I don't think they have done or said anything in 3 months to instill even a marginal degree of confidence they have a clue how to prevent total melt down.

Right, they were all reluctant to let those ATBs go. He stopped blaming ATBs and started blaming instructors.

At least Jack quit blaming the lack of ATB students.

Ouch, tough question. We didn't learn this in class (I don't think). Do I get any credit for attendance even though I haven't been on here in 3 weeks? I was in jail, with my pimp.
