Thread regarding Raytheon Co. layoffs

Rockwell vs. Raytheon - who's better employer?

Currently working for Rockwell, got an offer from you guys. Same work, +15% jump in total comp. Not completely happy at Rockwell, but I am not under pressure to leave. What do you guys think? How do the companies compare? Any response is very much appreciated.

They still have profit sharing, last couple of years been a little over 3%

I used to work for Raytheon. Did I hear you correctly? No profit sharing anymore? All of Raytheon or just certain divisions? Which divisions? Are they doing the same for raises as well?

I've worked at both; if it were me I'd stay with Rockwell. Benefits slightly better.

But at least you seemed to get decent work with engineers that were above the

50% mark. At Rayteon, it seems you either are working with new engineers that

are left on there own or engineers that have been at Raytheon for 8+ years. Most

of the ones that have been there for a long time seem to be just watching the clock.

There are exceptions. Management doesn't care and doesn't try to hide that fact -

Example of this is when high upper management said in a town hall meeting "you

have a choice about working at Raytheon" when they discontinued the profit sharing.

Apples and oranges, you cannot compare the two.
