OP: These 'times of crisis' promotions will only work against their temporary benefactors over the long run. Future hiring executives will greatly question the character of these individuals given the timing of these promotions under these current circumstances. Those getting promotions recently will be rightly perceived as complicit or even actively contributing to the shenanigans going on at CCi,hence the value in keeping them. Once CCi is gone, their only options will be working for more 'dirty' industries like payday loan companies, provided of course they don't end up in jail with the rest of the ELT.
