Top Apollo Group/University of Phoenix Executives Are Asking for Criminal Charges

@Marquejsha (Pell), your post is just another indicator of just how racist and sexist Apollo Group and University of Phoenix is. And it begins at the top, cynically marketing to (or rather targeting) working-class women of color as well as other vulnerable populations (e.g. military veterans, single mothers, immigrants, people with disabilities, people who are unemployed or underemployed). They know the numbers and they know the tactics and they do nothing. If the political winds shift, and they can, Apollo Group and University of Phoenix executives could be criminally prosecuted for this--and some at lower levels know it. The top executives at Enron were in denial for years and it seems like the same is happening at Apollo Group and University of Phoenix.

@Anonymous42838, you sound like management or someone paid by management. Fortunately there are some people at University of Phoenix who will speak out. Some already have. When the public is more aware just how predatory Apollo Group is, there will be even more political pressure to do something about this situation. That's what happened to Corinthian Colleges earlier this year: a librarian named Laurie McConnell blew the whistle in The Huffington Post and it got all the way to Obama. No one at University of Phoenix is "too big to jail." Al Sharpton, Larry Fitzgerald, and Suze Orman won't save you. Go ahead and shred the documents and clear the hard drives, then explain the cover up in discovery.

I understand your concern as this is something that executives in enrollment impart to their field stooges, i.e., directors/managers of enrollment. Management don't want their advisors to advise, but push these enrollment advisors to enroll anyone and everyone, in spite of that person's academic preparedness and/or tenuous economic status. This needs to stop immediately.

@Anonymous42671, It's interesting that you do not believe there is no paper (or digital) trail. I'm sure that's what they believed at Enron and other corporations before executives ended up doing the perp walk. If it gets hotter, maybe someone will be wired at a meeting, or maybe a phone conversation will be taped by the feds. At this point, people at the highst levels have to be talking about everything that's already publicly out there (e.g. work by Aaron Glantz and the Center for Investigative Reporting, work by David Halperin) and how they can cover themselves.

Camden Kid, you have no idea...it's horrible. The students who are signing up could barely pass high school let alone college. I've heard of a student enrolling who was borrowing (stealing) internet from their neighbor. If they have an internet connection, and pulse, they can enroll.

Unless there's a paper trail ( there isn't one), yours is wishful thinking. Sure the executives have allowed some of their directors to go rogue, but there isn't anything on file directing this disgusting behavior.
