Thread regarding Raymond James Financial Inc. layoffs

What is wrong in security you ask Anonymous36559? Management! Plan and simple. The money has always stunk at RJ.

You are right too that 2 managers have departed, but more than a few associates have left too. One security department only has one associate left in it. One department has fired 2 people in 3 months. A Contractor has actually giving notice too. Recommend a steer clear attitude, but you can almost say that about RJ IT in total.

The exit interviews are pointless. Don't waste your time.

An exit interview would hopefully point out that there is a problem with the pay or leadership system albeit, probably nobody cares. but it has to start somewhere. a company cant keep losing good people that have been there working hard for years, got them to where they are at today, and then just do away with them because of growth. from an outside perspective things just seem wrong when 2 managers have decided to leave in a months time, especially since its such a small department. arent all the people in charge today ex UBS emps? why did they all abandon ship there in such a short time. that company was going down the tubes because they brought it down by poor leadership and guidance. get rich, get out.

So glad I left... Didn't do an exit interview... What's the point?

being in IT security is lucrative, but difficult at RJ. you battle between making it easy for the business to make money and keeping data secure. for several years, the business continues to win out in the security debate. it won't change until RJ has to pay out hundreds of thousands due to a mass data breach. given the climate at RJ and the need for security folks in other companies, it was easier to leave to make more money, have less hassle, and actually do your job right.

Bella/Vin don't seem to care on stopping it. It has been going on for a while and I see no effort to correct.

Couldn't agree more. RJ IT is on a downhill slide and has been for quite some time now. In my area, people hate their jobs, but come to work for the paycheck and ride the storm. In security, don't have a lot of background, but I do know that some long term associates have been let go or quit in the past few years. My guess would be that most left for better money or better opportunity. Im not sure who they have left in management in security, but if that is the problem then more people will leave if that is the issue. These people should be doing exit interviews as well, or is this something that Bella/Vin have put a stop to
