I'm not sure if you guys realize what we're willing to do to secure a cash or employer paid student. You'll notice that the new lawsuit explains that CCi can basically get $9 in fed funding for every dollar in cash. That's basically true. We've always struggled with 90/10 and have long been desperate to do anything to stay right under it so we can keep getting fed funds. If you show up and tell me that you'll be paying cash, you can get the deal of a lifetime! Of course, we'll start with full price, but if you balk we will go lower and lower. We can enroll you at less than your cost because whatever we charge 9and you pay in cash) allows us to secure a ton more Title IV.
True. Actually charging rich people less and charging the poor more.
EET I'M betting the DOE and the FCPB would find that illegal also. That's basically offering different tuition rates depending on a students ability to secure funding. Although that may fall right into Obama's equality ideas, make the ones that have it pay for the ones who can't.
279 I was hoping also. Wyotech has a new start next week and without gap funding it won't happen. I really was hoping someone would buy Wyotech because it could become a great school again. The automotive industry is in dire need of technicians and with someone to invest some money into the campuses to update training aids we could make a comeback. Now it seems all hope is lost.
they have been throwing away the gap in funding for months. Giving students $6,000 discounts on tuition b/c they can't get a loan to cover it. Student doesn't qualify for pell? just wipe the balance out! call is an "opportunity grant" just get the $9,500 of federal funds while we can!
268, I think options have been limited since July, I'm afraid. Though I was hoping I was wrong, it's not looking like it.
261, not many options left at this point is there?
257 Hey Captain Shit Head, how bout you ride the f*** out of here?
259, it can but it must file a plant to pay or get released from debt, which must be approved by DOE. Funding stops immediately and they will essentially close their doors.
I thought the basic theory was that CCi cannot file for bankruptcy as a Title IV school.
Captain Obvious Rides Again! How Bought That Stock?!?
No California Veteran money. No new Illinois students. The list goes on and on.
