At least someone has our backs for those of us going down with the ship.

785 - I hope that's true. Retention packages are needed. Too many people moving on to run some departments much longer. But the only way a retention package can be paid if if in a sale agreement, the new owner agrees to pay it. Not unheard of. No way CCi can pay them!
Severance? There is more convoluted, uninformed bullshit here than any other discussion board in the history of anonymous posting. If you guys are employees you must have received your education at one of the Everest mills. Maybe you should take a mental health furlough - most of you do not appear in any shape to drive.
Yo, educated with no common sense! There is no severance! They just cut the entire high school marketing team as well as leadership. No severance was approved by the DOE. Wake up. When you're gone, stay gone, your COCO privileges are going to be revoked
Severance? LOL, I did hear that management did submit retention paperwork to the monitor and it is currently on hold. Most likely retention for a small skeleton crew and whatever it takes to wind down teach out.
You did read that in the agreement that DoE funds were not to be used for severance. Look it up, it is in there.
Severance? SEVERANCE?! Dude, buddy, we can't even make payroll. Severance is a f***ing pipedream.
Actually, PhDs do work here... the otherwise unemployable ones who earned their doctorate at University of Phoenix Online.
Phd? Then why are you on this site? Phd's don't work at Everest you troll bag! All that time for a rebuttal and "douche" was all you got? Please return back to watching Real Housewives and let the grown ups talk
You have a PhD and you couldn't find a better word than "douche"? If you're going to whip out your credentials, at least represent it properly with how you articulate and express yourself.
737, call me ignorant all you want. I have a PhD. I'm asking questions because I don't know the answers. Why do you need to be such a douche? Oh, because you're a useless troll? If you weren't, you would try to help those of us who aren't as brilliant at business as you are to understand what's happening. Pat yourself on the back all you want. If your not a troll, you were stupid enough to work for CCI. Either way, DOUCHE. Thanks for zero information. I'll just wait for leadership douches for the news.
Maybe you could remind everyone how much CCi paid BioHealth to "buy" the four campuses?
Here's some advice for you: buy some Crest white strips, walk around the building at lunch, and grab a handful of stfu. My source is vaild, your knowledge on selling corporations and college education...now that is debatable.
The logic here is getting all backward. There is no approval for if there is no severance. If CCi wants to pay a severance, then CCi must seek DOE approval at least two weeks in advance. There is nothing that says that CCi must pay any severance. The only reason DOE can reject any severance is because it's too high, since $0 is effectively automatically approved (no approval needed).
Anonymous36737- If you actually knew what was going on, then you'd know that CCi normally has to bring cash to the table to "sell" its schools. Yes, that's right, CCi pays the cash to free itself of the garbage. You may want to take your own advice.
You see, when you sell something, you make $. DOE is in charge of all severances. If you don't know that by now, please don't comment, making yourself sound even more ignorant.
How does that help? They have no money and this puts off the sale. It could result in layoffs.
Why would DOE approve severances?
They can't make payroll. There's no severance money.
How do they reject a severance when we are broke but approve a sale? That makes no sense.
Anonymous36721- From my understanding, there is no additional approval needed to pay $0 severance. DOE has no authority to increase costs.
There is a sale next month ?
My source says because it wasn't high enough for long term employees
I expect DOE to approve $0, except incentives to keep faculty and staff at teach-out schools.
How do we know it (the severance package) won't be even LOWER! I've experienced the DOE shutting down another severance package (ATI) and it being even lower and paying back some students and debtors
