Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

CCI is not going out of business.

They are however selling their campuses, the everest, heald and Wyotech brands. This means at the campus level jobs are definitely on the chopping block once the sale goes through but until then they will keep as much staff as possible. As for the CSC employees, sure there probably will be downsizing involved but Corinthian still expects to operate as a marketing and call center operation for many schools. So CCI will continue on just not as an operator of for-profit colleges. This was a back burner backup plan for a really long time that is why they brought all call center and marketing ops "in house" and started up the Colorado CSC and kept the Santa Ana one as well as this was not most cost efficient as using esm, ansaphone and the off shore call centers but makes CCI much more valuable to run marketing and call center ops for other education corporations. Socle was created for the same reason. Believe it or not but the top brass of CCI aren't going anywhere and they are not idiots. They took all the money they could and sucked the well dry, ignored the DOE request for as long as possible knowing this plan was in effect. This being said, a lot of pay cuts for current CSC employees will follow after the sale (yes a sale will be completed by December) but the promises of advancement opportunity will be what will keep most of the CSC employees. There you have it folks. I probably won't get many replies on this post because I see most of you just either are doomsday theorists or business as usual the sun will shine in the end robots. The truth is always lies somewhere in the middle. And I just disclosed to you what WILL hhappen. I must stay anonymous because I am still part if the company at the Griffin towers and I'm privi to access this info, just after weeks of reading this page I felt compelled to let you know as the way the CCI has put their people , both CSC and campus employees, in limbo is utterly disgraceful. Best of luck to everyone who has worked for this machine.

Hee hee. Who are they going to market these marketing, financial aid, etc services to? Our competitors want nothing to do with us and not for profits were already highly skeptical of for profits. After all this publicity, they'll be even more skittish. They can rebrand and try to pretend they're not CCi, but people will find out. There's no market for them.

CCI will retain marketing people ie call center reps, managers, directors, buyers etc no ad reps nor career service reps or anything to do with admissions will be needed. If the company that takes over wants to retain them as they rebrand is yet to be determined

What about Tampa EUO. Wages range from 40-100K. Would that be part of CSC at their pay grades?? EUO is an enrollment center, if no longer in school business would cci continue to pay those wages??? Or would they zero base and have everyone apply fir jobs then make offers at reduced pay???

Marketing machine, yes. But when a company starts a subsidiary to service others, it offers up its key core capability. And what was CCi's? It was NOT educating. It is processing student loans and evading loan defaults. Yes, that is SOCLE. CCi has nothing to do w/ education. It is a money laundering operation.

They obviously weren't very good at operating campuses anyways. They were in my opinion always a marketing machine first and foremost so now they will become what they do best. Find and put bodies in campuses without having to actually educate them and place them.

Yes 385, I think you are pretty spot-on with this. The thing that comforts me is Jack and the rest of the ELT will go down in history - and in countless business school case studies - as the crooks that they are. Yes, they will line their coffins with gold; but their names will be forever associated with ineptitude, greed, and hubris. Their tombstones will be monuments of spite.
