Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox has unprofessional leadership who do not actually know how to manage

I am a Xerox employee and can affirm to you that this is not a very savory company. We have terrible support, management is chosen on longevity not on merit or experience resulting in management which consists of unprofessional people who do not actually know how to manage, most of which do not even understand the VERY basic relationship between leaders and followers. The company is quite sneaky and although I have not personally seen this type of underhanded behavior in my location, I must admit I am not the least bit surprised by it.

If you look back about a decade ago, Xerox almost went under due to gross mismanagement, this has not changed much at all even after re-organizing. Some of the most basic principles of successful businesses are non-existent in this company and it is very surprising that we are so large with annual revenues of 22.4 billion dollars (2012) and still do not understand the basics of operating an organization and this will be our downfall.

I worked for them for 25 years and from the year 2000 - 2001, I saw a decline in everything from customer service (which I was a part of) to satisfaction a word that they like to boast about but never achieved on a consistent basis. To customer retention. But I have always seen how much the customer has managed to scare the management and threaten to leave because the machine was down for a total of 3 seconds. The hoops these managers used to jump through just to keep a customer and the money they spent trying to please them was obscene. Xerox was a very good company when I joined and they treated me very well for the most part, but the leadership just is not there in my opinion - so basically everybody looses. So go ahead head corporate dumbells and lay off 80% of your workforce. That should turn the company around ( eyes rolling )

I worked for them for 25 years and they were very good to me - but toward the end I saw that handwriting of the wall that something is going to happen. It did - but I had a plan months before and went to school at 52 years old and got my degree and now I am a happier than ever.
