Rumor has 10/1/2014 as the official date Cisco employees will receive their RIF notices (Brad Reese says the layoff could exceed 20% of Cisco's workers).

Reese's pretty cool - I do not frequent his blog but I saw a few of his Cisco related posts and he's on target. All that he wrote about layoffs this year was right on target, so I'd say one should pay more attention to what he writes as opposed to article in WSJ and other financial media as the Corporate PR directly influences what's fed to the readers at major media outlets.
