Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!

Just found my lifeboat - I'm outta here! Yippee!!! One last thing to do this weekend is make notes on all the unethical behavior I've seen and heard and send it to the reporters who have been working on CCi stories, ED, and the various state attorney generals offices. Karma can really bite you in the tush, Mr & Ms "this is something that we can never put in writing - phone calls only!" I've been wondering if the powers that be know about that long-term policy! Changes things when they look at where to get documentation. They need to protect and interview employees and ex-employees!

Nobody cares. Cci is for sale. No story if a company ceases to exist.

not just Socle. almost all of admissions is "here's what we put in writing, but let me tell you how we really do it wink! wink!"

20318: Not that person, but I can tell you that it's next to impossible to get anything in writing at Socle. If you suspect that something doesn't fully comply with regs and send out an email for clarification, there's basically zero chance that you will get an emailed response. The most you can hope for is someone popping their head in your cubicle telling you it's okay. That's why they love having high turnover, whether from quitting, laying off or firing. They can claim that an ex-employee was responsible and they knew nothing about it. It's pitiful, really.

OMG does anybody remember Nancy "Dog Food"?!? She's been gone for ages, but was always doing the "nothing in writing" shit. I think she was the one who originally started it then the other execs started mimicking her. The last few years it's been everywhere - "remember, nothing in writing on this topic", "phone calls only to discuss this one", etc, etc, et al. Even if there was nothing else suspicious, I'm sure that would have caused many employees to realize that there were ill deeds afoot. Stupid, really. Ed can always find a way to shut you down if it wants. Squealing that "It's all just he said/she said!" or "Prove it!" doesn't work when you're receiving billions in taxpayer bucks.

I honestly couldn't tell you how many times I've heard that on various calls. Every time I felt like I was involved in something dirty and wanted to take a shower. Looking back, yeah, it was all dirty. From student finance to placement to admissions, "illegal" just means "don't put it in writing" to CCI.
