“I made the choice to follow my dreams... I haven't looked back.”
Kanesha's trip to her job as a registered nurse at Inova Alexandria Hospital can't be measured in miles. It was a two-year journey, powered by hope and hard work, that took her from homelessness to a secure and rewarding career. In 2010, Kanesha was struggling: working two jobs and raising her five children, all under the age of 12, as well as her sister's child.
Looking for some way to meet her family's economic needs, she saw an opportunity in nursing. "As a nurse I would be able to help people, continue learning and have the means to support my family."
Kanesha enrolled in the inaugural class of the Nursing program at Everest College, Tysons Corner, becoming the first of her eight siblings to attend college. Even while she continued to work as an elderly care provider and a phlebotomist, she took a full course load and maintained a 3.28 GPA.
Her school, work, and life demands became less daunting when she realized her peers were facing similar challenges. "I was so surprised at how many of my classmates were in similar situations. We gave each other encouragement and came out strong." In June 2012, Kanesha passed her nursing boards, the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). The same year, she was hired as an RN — and is now happily employed — at Inova, part of the largest health care system in Washington D.C’s Northern Virginia suburbs and ranked as a Best Hospital in U.S. News for healthcare excellence. Today, Kanesha continues to look ahead. Her children are thriving and support her next career goal: becoming a nurse practitioner.
“Working at Raven Motorsports has really been a great opportunity for me. I get to work on cars that are featured infamous magazines, build crazy race cars with big turbo engines, and repair blown motors, all while getting paid for it.”
Kepano, or "Pano" to his friends, grew up in Hawaii, where heenjoyed taking things apart and building new things. He was encouraged to enroll at WyoTech by a friend who had been a student at the Laramie, Wyoming campus. In the fall of 2010, Pano traded the black-sand beaches of home for a seat in WyoTech's Automotive Technology program in Long Beach, California, confident it would help expand his career opportunities.
When Pano arrived at WyoTech, he thought he already knew a lot about cars. It surprised him to see how much more there was to learn — from engine theory to brakes and suspension. "The tests were hard," he remembers, "but the challenges in life push me to be the best." Graduating in summer 2011 with a 3.88 GPA, Pano soon found his dream job: working for Raven Motorsports, an independent Audi specialist in Long Beach. Today, his responsibilities include computer tuning, customizations and rebuilds. Far away from his parents in Hawaii, he considers the Raven team to be his local family.
The good feelings are mutual: "We couldn't have asked for a better technician to work with us," said Riccardo Falconeri, Pano's supervisor at Raven. "We believe we got one of the top WyoTech graduates."
Benigna - 2010 Graduate
Everest College
Diploma - Dental Assistant
“I was surprised how much I accomplished in such a short amount of time.”
Benigna thoroughly enjoys her career as a dental assistant, from engaging with patients and performing cleanings to managing the front and back office.
Benigna wasn't always so satisfied with her work. She had spent several years working odd jobs and struggling with personal issues before deciding to go back to school. In 2009, she enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at Everest College, San Jose, and soon began to imagine a better life.
During the ten-month program at Everest, she faced numerous obstacles. Her commute to school was 90 miles round-trip on public transit, and she had to balance homework with a full-time job. She managed it all and thrived in student life, becoming a mentor to other students and graduating with a 4.0 GPA. Two months after graduation, Benigna started working as a dental assistant in Dr. Cheng’s office.
After three weeks, she was offered a full-time position. Today, she is the lead assistant, gratified by how far she has come in such a short time. Benigna received the Campus Dream Award in 2011, in recognition of the many challenges she overcame to graduate at the top of her class.
Lucy - 2010 Graduate
Everest Institute
Diploma - Medical Assistant
“Everest's program taught me the skills required to be a medical assistant; the faculty provided the support I needed to succeed.”
Lucelia "Lucy" was selected as the 2010 Dream Award winner for her campus. The recognition was well deserved.
Lucy's teen years were difficult. She gave birth to her first child at 15, and by 16, she left home. She worked at various jobs, including some time spent as a hospice caretaker. While in that role, she was reminded of the midwife who helped her through her first pregnancy. Lucy decided that she wanted a career where she could comfort others through difficult situations, as the midwife had done for her.
She got married and had two more children before deciding - with her husband's wholehearted support - to pursue the Medical Assistant program at Everest.
While taking Medical Assistant courses, Lucy continued to work full-time while also caring for her three children and serving as a student ambassador - a peer mentor. As an ambassador, Lucy was responsible for organizing the school's first blood drive and recruiting other student ambassadors to participate in the event.
Lucy graduated in 2010 and now works at Providence Gateway Clinic, which specializes in obstetrics. She has found the work so rewarding that she plans to become a nurse midwife. Her goal is to one day deliver her own grandchildren.
Cesar & Kimberly - 2010 Graduate WyoTech
Diploma - Automotive Technology
“It feels great to be working at Pep Boys. Every day is a new challenge because each customer is unique.” - Cesar
“WyoTech prepared me for my current job. Once we've gotten enough experience, Cesar and I hope to open our own automotive repair shop.” - Kimberly
Cesar has always had a passion for cars. He can easily name his favorite model: the 1949 Mercury Coupe. A few years ago, Cesar had been laid off from his job at a refinery and his wife Kimberly had given birth to two sons back to back. Their family was living with Cesar's father when the couple formed a plan to pursue careers in the automotive industry. After researching various programs, Cesar and Kimberly enrolled at WyoTech.
Once at WyoTech, the couple maintained good grades and became EagleTech ambassadors - mentors to other students. Their instructors were impressed by the couple's commitment to succeed and their participation in campus activities.
Cesar credits his wife's support and their shared goals for his persistence. They studied together and graduated at the same time.
After graduation, Cesar was immediately hired at Pep Boys as an express service technician. Not long after, Kimberly started at the same shop as a service advisor.
Kimberly and Cesar are using the skills they gained at WyoTech. Employed in the field they love, the couple is working toward the day when they can open their own automotive business.
Pamela - 2009 Graduate
Everest College
Diploma - Practical Nursing
“My dad taught me that education is a key to a better life and now I am living proof of that.”
Pamela was raised in Chicago's Cabrini Green, one of the most notorious public housing projects in the country. She faced nearly impossible odds growing up, including a drug-addicted mother, teen pregnancies and homelessness. But Pamela did have at least one thing going for her: a passion to learn. She graduated from high school with honors, and knew that education was the key to a better life.
After the birth of her third daughter at age 18, Pamela tried nursing school, but dropped out. A few years later, she enrolled in the Practical Nursing program at Everest and was determined to finish. Although her struggles continued - domestic violence and homelessness - she graduated, passed her state exam and obtained her license. That same year, Pamela was named Corinthian's 2009 Dream Award winner in honor of her educational achievement in the face of tremendous obstacles.
Today, Pamela works as a licensed practical nurse in a primary care clinic.

Grand Canyon University has online and ground opportunities for instructors, admissions, marketing and other positions (ground campus is in Phoenix...). Although still a for-profit school, GCU has a different business model and different demographic than CCI and most other for-profits.
SPC. USF. UT Eckerd College. Set daily alerts on indeed.com and apply
Why on earth are people going to share that? You'd be up against the same job as me. Find one yourself'
If anyone sees or smells CCI on your applications, they will toss it in the garbage. BUT you can use Dani Babb Group services to have them hide or remove CCI from your CV. Here's a way to save a bunch of money, you can locate where the word is located on your CV, highlight, and press the DEL key. Presto! It's gone. A fool and their money. Of course, if you have no other online teaching experience but CCI, you will need to keep that on and watch as no one contacts you.
You are the type of customer that the Babb Group is targeting - helpless, clueless, and lazy. All she wants is your money for her 10th vacation home. Come to think of it, isn't that the type of student that Corinthian targets?
Go to higheredjobs and other related sites. Searching and applying is easy. You don't need Dani Babb's costly services to hold your hand, like we need to for Everest dum-dums. You can do this on your own. I know you can do it...lol.
Would you like somebody to wipe your ass for you too? I'm guessing you know how the internet works, since you're apparently on it, so get to searching.
