Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Nothing Personal, But:

Employees still defending this company and blaming others for its current plight are completely delusional. CCi had to respond with the placement data in January. They didn’t. Why? They have the information. The company has people reporting and checking this data ad nauseam throughout the company. Here’s why: They knew the data was overstated and outright wrong. The Dept. of Ed and the state of CA have an email FROM JACK stating the data is wrong and they have a compliance issue. It is common knowledge that the company uses predatory practices to target, enroll and take advantage of the most unfortunately vulnerable segment of society as students. If you work here, you have seen it & heard it. Now they are enrolling students without disclosing their impending doom - Despicable. CCi charges astronomical tuition for an education with very little value. The company’s graduation rate is unacceptably low. The company’s default rate is ridiculously high. Their key stats and reputation are the worst in the industry even with fudged numbers. CCi should have cleaned up their act a long time ago. They didn’t. Too late now. WAKE UP if you don’t know this or are ignoring these facts. Oh, and you work for an “education” company, use spell check.

Well Ms Happy face/sad face, you seem to know everything. You must be really smart. Did you get those "facts" straight from the internet? You must be one of those angry former employees that was fired. I'm sorry :-(

Before 2011 Everest campuses were not required to submit back up documentation to CSC until lazy employees were caught entering bogus placements. 2011 and on, there was no way possible to enter anything bogus in the system. CSC calls EVERY employer to verify employment. I am not sticking up for CCI or Everest employees at all, but it's really annoying when someone posts inaccurate statements. People who have no clue about what happens at each campus.

Oh, goodie, we have heard from top CCi employees that have first-hand knowledge about the situation. Oh, and their comments are pure, unedited, almost higher learning type responses.

A 61% average graduation rate is atrocious and embarrassing. Every student, every time?

Wonder why the DOE didn’t believe the numbers? Read the original post: “The company has people reporting and checking this data ad nauseam throughout the company.” That’s secret code for: All they needed to do is provide information they have. The schools have it, the regionals have it and CSC has it. They had 5 months to provide info that is maintained per company policy. No problem even if they needed to info from the, gasp, schools. Continue reading: “They knew the data was overstated and outright wrong. The Dept. of Ed and the state of CA have an email FROM JACK stating the data is wrong and they have a compliance issue.” That’s more secret code for: According to JACK, the placement numbers are not accurate anyway. No excuses.

And thank you very much to Former Instructor (Ed) for your compliment.

Yes I do know what the DoE requested. The data is inCampusVue and pulled out via Informatica and reported on. The DoE didn't believe our numbers so they wanted the data from the campuses themselves. Of course I am just drinking the cool-aid or delusional.

Most things you mentioned are correct, but you are wrong in regards to the documents requested by DOE. Do you even know what they requested? CCI's corporate office attempted to satisfy the DOE request without notifying any campu or asking for assistance. The verifications of employment can be found at each campus. If they just asked it would have been submitted. The campuses did not find out aboit the request until 2 weeks ago. 'Corporate tried to handle the situation on their own and of course, as always failed.

I don't think I've ever had a section of Strategies for Success where more than 25% of the students passed.

I do not doubt the 61% grad rate, since that's not easy to modify. However, what I do question is if some of the graduates ever saw a classroom.

Graduation rate is 61%. Who fault is it if the student doesn't show up to class? The data isn't wrong and never has been. I know because I have been working pulling the data.

CCi is not worth the extra effort of spell check. I save that for important things.
