I took one look at that and laughed so hard not only did i pee on myself a lil, i woke up my now pissed off boyfriend, cat and dog... and my neighbors im sure. Just a prime example of some of the worst employees there.. admissions.. what? No car? No home? Have 5 kids and a single mom whos 6 mo pregnant with the 6th kid?? No worries! We can totally accomidate your schedule!! You want to be in the night class too? Oh thats good you can mooch a ride from someone because the busses stop runing... Just let the instructor know, she will work with you. Oh and you cant read either? No problem! The instructor will be forced to sit with you and read you the test every week! Just sign here, make sure you give it at least 1 month so the instructor will get their ass handed to them... and it wont go aganist me. I still need my raise, but the instructor? Ah, who cares! No raise for them because of the hit they take!! Admissions are the worst!!!!!! Of corse there are a few good ones here and there... but, we all know how that plays out!!!!

So true! I had a student who didn't even speak English. Then was asked by my Chair is I spoke "Hmong" What!?!Just because I'm Asian!!!!!
I don't work in admissions but this seems to be true as a faculty members 90% of my students are clearly not cut out of for college and I'm wondering how some of them completed junior high. Many of them have no interest whatsoever in attending school and were simply talked into it by an admissions counselor who enticed them with the promise of stipends. Then if one of these ill prepared, uninterested students wises up and decides to drop it suddenly becomes the instructors fault. So now instructors are calling students, harassing them at their homes and jobs begging them to complete a minimum amount of work just so we don't get in trouble. Doesn't matter than the work is 10 weeks late and on kindergarten level.. just turn in it!!

We are told we are not doing our job to not start her. It's RVPAs who say there are only 3 reasons not to enroll: default, no SSN, no POG. Sorry 6 kids and no car is totally enroll-able. My 3 kids need to eat trumps all. All in all frontline and upper management are suffering because of what the people in the middle did for years to save their $100k/yr checks.
