Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

There are 10 scheduled paydays left in 2014, not including tomorrow.

How many will you see? There are various reasons you might not see all 10, including layoff, quit, and other termination. I'm not sure CCi has sufficient financial resources to make it all 10, even if we are told there is a special fund to pay payroll--why the 10% reductions if there is a special fund? Oh, that's right, it's a "separate issue." Separate issue or not, desperate is as desperate does.

If you are counting paychecks and worrying, get out. Free country.

There's no special fund. Money's were designated for payroll and other expenses so employees got paid. That was awhile ago. Who knows what's left of those funds. Maybe nothing. But the 10% is likely because they don't have any money. I think if they're not making payroll this week they would have told us. But either way, the sooner you get out, the less you have to worry about your paycheck going through.

I don't think there's any special fund. I think DOE designated funds to go to payroll. I don't think whatever they designated is an endless fund. DOE won't give cci schools more than what they get from students. I think they told cci had to use a certain amount of what they got for payroll. Who knows? Maybe those funds are long gone. Maybe they won't make payroll. That's why the smart move is to start looking and move on.
