Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Hey Jenkins, we instructors have the EXACT same amount of respect for you and the leadership of CCI.

26671, I wouldn't say "higher," but definitely different. I am with ECPO, and I know someone that works for EUO, and we have different requirements. EUO is forced to skype with their students and log interactions in Talisma weekly. Both have to contact at-risk and 0% activity students every week (which I'm sure you guys have to do to.) It's BS all around. I keep seeing the 70% outreach being thrown around, and it's crazy, but it really feels that way, especially lately. It feels like a desperate attempt to squeeze every penny out of the students they can, and to make it look like students are participating. What a sad, sad time.

It sounds like they have higher expectations for on-the-ground instructors than for us online instructors. We rarely have more than 40% of the students pass. However, they would expect us to continue outreach to the student and ask the funeral home director to help the student log-on to make a short post.

Hey Ken, suck one! Blaming the instructors for this student failures and drop outs. If you truly cared about quality education you would start with students that are able to read and comprehend what they've read. It's a shame when 50% of your class have IEP's and need there tests read to them. Then you have to define every question and put it in terms so a 5 year old can understand. If you want a quality graduate you first have to start with a quality student. Or at least with ones that truly want to learn. I have students with criminal pasts, ones that are on parole and I've had students that were on Megan's list. I've had my life threatened by students and others that I wouldn't turn my back on. I've had my job threatened because 4 out of 30 students dropped. I've had a student's death go against my attrition numbers because CCi has no means of separating attrition reasons. One class I had 2 students die in an automobile accident, 1 student drop because his father killed his mother then turn the gun on himself and 1 that broke his leg playing basketball at intermural sports. I was put on a PIP because I had 16% attrition for that class, now how in the hell was any of this attrition my fault? So Mr. Jenkins, you can go f*** yourself after the comments you made.

Oh Kenny, what a butt you are. I hope you are punished for what came out of your hole about instructors. Their job is 80% outreach, yet class attrition continues to be high. The 'asses in classes" with promises of stipend checks approach is why your students have no intention to succeed. Blame yourself, asshole.
