Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Everybody threatening to 'show them' consider this:

They are going to need to further cut costs. That means they will fire or lay off. They are so top heavy, and with tanking enrollments the reality is they don't need all of us. They probably posted cuts knowing they would lose a percentage of employees, were banking on it in fact. You're not going to prove anything. You're going to lose your jobs. So, make whatever point you want, knowing your longevity with this company will be shorter. What do you think is going to happen in 10

Weeks? They're making toner rules! What do you think that means? The only recovery for the company is to dump the weight. No students, no money. I think layoffs are next. And maybe as soon as next week. Then we sell or close. That's it. There's nothing else.

Go ahead instructors! You know that you have at least 9 weeks of pay coming. Our campus is so over whelmed with staff leaving that instructors are teaching 6 and even 7 classes. They have program directors teaching because instructors are in such short supply. Every instructor they loose is another program director taking on 5 classes. They can afford to do shit right now. Hit them while they are short and can't do anything.

This is the predeterminer FOR layoffs! How do they decide? Morons who are going to show them! Nobody has to believe it. And paycuts don't mean no layoffs. That means the start of the end of a company.

It sounds counterintuitive, but at this point you may be better off being laid off now, than a month or two. Pound the pavement now, don't wait. How the board has not fired 90 percent of top ten percent tells you, who is in bed this whom. With what has gone on, they could straight out fire them but haven't, any legit board would have a while ago.

Layoffs are going to happen, take my word on it. All campuses are in the process of determining what is the correct number of staff it needs compared to the income from enrolled students. The first to go will be the ones that didn't take non-paid time off. All campus presidents are required to maintain a list of employees who take the time off.

Layoffs aren’t going to happen. That’s why the cost cutting. People have BEEN leaving. Even prior to June 19th. ECPO lost 18 yesterday, and we won’t know until Monday how many decided to scumbag ‘em and just not show up. Jack went to Washington and cried, my students, my people, PLEASE, GIVE ME SOME MONEY!! And DOE said, okay, you make a good point, we want minimal financial impact to students and employees.
