I recommend that nobody take the voluntary leave. You never know what legal machinations will happen while you are gone, and you must stay off the Everest grid. No peeking! That could be grounds for termination!

Bet they notice their meth lab closed before they notice ther instructors are gone.
Anonymous24332- I have not seen too many things that I would consider a wage violation, but this one might just be it! CCi has constructed a system to get a week's worth of work out of its full-time faculty for free!
@24319: That's exactly it. Full-time faculty will be the ones subbing. They won't allow adjuncts since they would have to pay them extra, negating their savings. Full-time faculty will be the ones screwed. They are doing double and triple workloads when subbing for no extra pay. Then they get to take a week off without pay. In the end, Full-time faculty are doing their workload and then some while CCI saves money. Ridiculous.
Ok, it's one thing if you sub for me and I sub for you and we each get our normal pay, but it's another to sit home for a week and ask me to do double the work the next week while the person who did double the work the week before sits at home. I wish I could make stuff up like this.
Nope, no pay. Part of the full-time contract. They are currently asking them to volunteer in general, whether they are taking time off or not. I have to wonder what will happen if there aren't enough volunteers.
Isn't there pay for subbing? Or does faculty member A sub for B for a week free and B sub for A for a week free, so CCi gets 2 weeks free labor?
The students will be notified that their usual instructor is on vacation. And guess who's subbing? Other Full-time faculty! The emails have already gone out asking them to sign up to cover the vacationing faculty. So some are 'voluntarily' taking time off unpaid and others are doing extra work.
I doubt students will notice, since they aren't there anyway. They may notice their phone isn't ringing so much.
Missing a week of Outreach? How ever did that get approved?!!
Not the 60% who never attend.
