It's possible. I was told that I could not take paid vacation for more than 2 days in a row, and that my vacation had to be taken between terms. And that it couldn't be taken during the term because there are no other faculty to substitute. I find it funny that they're magically going to come up with substitutes for the students for an entire week of a furloughed instructor. Either that or the students are just SOL for a week.
