IT likely monitors this site. They have programs that will tell them if emotes go to certain sites, or sites with certain keywords. It's pretty old school but any business who wants productivity from employees will use it.
Maybe they just ask IT to check your IP address and find out who you are. You're probably stupid enough to be on this site at work.
