"There's so much more than this going on. Here are some examples: When students fall behind on their Genesis or cash plan Student Accounts begins by badgering the student with telephone calls, then pulls them out of class and when all else fails puts holds on the books and schedules and finally tells the student that they can no longer attend class. Admissions consistently tells student that they can "try out" the program knowing all the while that if the student attends the classes that it places them well outside of their right to cancel. So admissions gets an enrollment and education takes a drop and the student gets charged. Finally, CCI is not a VA friendly school. One of my students was caught a in catch 22 position. CCI filed her package late so she was not funded for the upcoming quarter so they placed a book and schedule hold on this student all because they screwed up."

The genesis loans are at the focal point of the investigation by The National Financial Consumer Protection Bureau. They are suing ITT for their genesis program, CCI is next. Quit while you can...you are done any way you look at it.
If you have to hold the students hand from start to finish a d place him or her in a job then the student shouldn't be attending school. Oh that's right there is no entrance exams. That's makes sense why would you test someone to see of they know the basics like reading and general math. Wait for it .....because it's about the money!
Where I went to school I was NEVER DROPPED or anything like that. Sure a registration hold was placed on my account, but I had ~10 weeks or so to work out the problem. They work with the students, and I had some outstanding balances that were many times $60, as in 40-50 times. You know, if you provide a quality education, you'll have a high retention and graduation rate, and you know the students will be there.
Guess what! If you attend any other college the same
things happens, or you are just flat out dropped or withdrawed no questions asked.
I can say, Everest holds the hands of all of the students to get them to graduate and in jobs. I went to a traditional school and a for profit school. I didn't receive 1/10 of the assistance at a traditional school versus the help I received in a for profit.
Which is worse: 60+ shares of COCO or Genesis payment?
That's also 60+ shares of COCO.
How else do you expect 90/10 compliance? That $60 in cash is good for $540 in Federal Financial Aid Funds!
You are absolutely correct. I have many students who come to me complaining that they aren't allowed to attend class because they are behind on their Genesis payment. One student only owed $60,but they refused to let him attend class.
