A record percentage of dropouts has occurred for the April 2014 quarter. The former students simply dropped out and unlike in the past many went through and did the paperwork. As a result, Heald revenues are going to come up SHORT relative to expenses. Most likely, Heald instructors will be able to teach the Spring Quarter before getting laid off for Summer. The enrollment drops were pretty much expected but no one at the top expected the large number of dropouts.

What we don't know is how many sections have been eliminated.
That is true, but the point is that new students re still signing up even with all the bad publicity.
It's very easy to fill the classes for new students, since you just open the next section once the first one is filled. What do you do when a student only needs 2-3 classes to graduate and there are only one or two other student who need these same classes? Take a look at just about any college/university system, the entry level classes are always full, no matter how big the program is. It's the more advanced classes that become a problem.
I don't have access to enrollment numbers but i know some classes for new students are full. That comes from a current faculty member teaching them. Reliable source.
