yes, layoffs are coming, my manager said so too but not until the end of the fiscal year so late summer/early fall according to rumors. execs would not be selling stock so fast and so much if not. Layoffs rumored to not only to remove more ground but also to online student services that are student-facing AKA academics. if you do not get the new "advocate" role for academics you are up for layoffs. we are able to now enroll students carte blanche, and it's up to advocates to make sure they post. no reason to have hundreds of academic advisers that no longer need to do welcome calls/resource info when all that stuff is covered in the first few classes with advocates. youse don't have to even schedule classes much longer from what I heard. so what does academics do when they only get students that are in it for more than pell and are already familiar with services and scheduling because they had an advocate for help getting started and can already schedule themselves? what do you do? all student services does is call students not in class and ask for recommendations. enrollment, finance, and the new advocate position is what earns that money $$$$$, go ahead apollo and outsource ac's to a call center now too.

I wish that I could disagree with you but this sounds about right for UOP.
