So if it's just a handful of people who are racist, ethnocentric, sexist, anti-Semitic, etc, why is Apollo Group and University of Phoenix complicit in letting them continue to work there? My educated guess is that it comes from the top or close to the top when it comes to the racist/ethnocentric and sexist part; they're just more measured in their speech. I'm also guessing that the people at the top (APOL top brass and Board Members as well as key investors) know about this hate, because they promote it behind the scenes. Once you understand the "code words," it's not difficult to see. It has become obvious to me that this corporation pits military veterans, women, people of color, immigrants, disabled people, and the underemployed against each other. They use power and prestige to sell a marginal service. People on the street (in the US and Chile) have been figuring it out for a few years now, and this school has becoming a laughingstock in US popular culture. If you want this to company to be ethical, people are going to have to document this (Grandma Millie tapes) and be courageous enough to leak it.

Is all of Apollo Group/University of Phoenix this racist and ethnocentric? Why do you choose to scapegoat those who are replacing you instead of those who made the decisions to replace you? I'm guessing this racist and ethnocentric mentality is prevalent in the back stage of Apollo management, that people who aren't blatantly racist are too afraid to say anything; they just allow themselves to be complicit.
