We have layoffs all the time and people are used to it. Just go with the flow, do not complain too much and you’ll be fine. If you get cut, you’ll have enough skills and you will be prepared by UBS to go work anywhere else. It’s a reputable company with some VERY SMART people and you’ll enjoy you time here. Overall, I must say that there is a lack of mobility for some significant career advancement in the Private Wealth Management group. We do not provide formal training so you’ll have to be flexible and to learn quickly as you go. In the mean time, cross your fingers and hope you don't make a large mistake as UBS will not tolerate that you’ll be cut immediately. Now, our size is also a problem as we grew too big and you can feel it at work every day – it’s hard to get anything done that requires inputs from other departments – to accomplish a single small thing you need to figure out who can help you and that person needs to be willing to assist – not an easy thing here at UBS, seriously some people just ignore requests, it should never be like this. So, as you can see, layoffs are not my biggest concern even though I heard that UBS can be laying off up to 10% of our workforce in 2014 and 2015 (just a rumors). I’d strongly advocate for a better training program and smoother communication and commitment between different departments. I hope this helps, I know I am new to UBS (joined less than 1 year ago), yet, this is my perception right now.

Your post mostly makes no sense, but I'd have to give it to you for nailing the cross-dpt communication issues
