A person (perhaps from corporate) said that there will be 500 layoffs in the next three years. Is this true? Or all the news reports wrong? Why didn't the news report that in the first place?

It will be many more than that. Otis and Dick are looking at a lot of locations, even profitable ones for logistics/overhead cost reductions.
