Because they are opening way too many stores way too fast given this economy, and also a major strategic screw-up in getting into tractor sales. They spent millions on those tractors and adding sales and support for that and those tractors are just sitting there and not selling and killing Cabela's financially. They are desparately trying to keep stockholders from seeing the results of this screwup and trying to cut expenses any way they can.
