Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

The "damages" (at least the non punitive) are going to be based on "fraudulent" representations of job placement. California needs to have DOCUMENTARY evidence that CCI representations to its students (and also to its investors) were "fraudulent". Fraudulent is more than just an "honest mistake". California will have to show that the job placement representations were KNOWINGLY misrepresented (or at the very least a GROSS AMOUNT of error beyond reasonable error (negligence) took place). If all that California can produce is disgruntled students with ONLY ORAL representations of CCI misconduct then California won't likely win the lawsuit. If California can produce WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION to back up the factual allegations of the (first amended) complaint then California likely wins the lawsuit. One thing that is interesting is that Heald "updated" all of its job placement representations RIGHT BEFORE the first amended complaint was filed.
