Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

NPR featured Senator Tom Harkin this morning

In the interview Harkin warned of student loan debt bubble. He was particularly harsh on for-profit schools as they have roughly 13% of all college students, but account for 25% of all student defaults at a cost of $150B to the taxpayer annually. Enough of this crap. Nearly 86% of this school's revenue comes from Title IV funds, who knows how much additional money comes in the form of Va funding each year. Accountability NOW.

and told them UOP is still forcing EAs to hit a target number. They are also still using shady marketing tactics to lure new students. The crap is going to hit the fan in June. Big surprise coming for these unscrupulous liars.

There is a cancer at the director and manager levels. The matrix is alive and well. Please contact Senator Harkin, the department education or anyone who will listen. Unfortunately, UOP appears to attempting to correct the wrong doing but it is not being enforced at the director and manager levels. They all protect each other so bringing these issues to Hr managers or directors will only get you fired. I want UOP to succeed, but these folks will bring it down. Take personal responsibility to save UOP and contact the department of education.

I'm not that cynical, especially as it concerns the integrity of federal judges. As for Congress, I would think both sides could come to a reasonable compromise as to for-profit schools receipt of taxpayer money. I think they believe it's just not that big a problem, especially given Americans' personal debt in excess of $11Trillion. However, I would hope they would address failing schools and programs and cut them off from the federal teat.

Unfortunately, too many politicians and judges have been bought.
