Boston Red Sox to Change Team Name

MLB has announced that the Boston Red Sox have requested that MLB allow the sports team to change it's name. The club spokesman confirmed the request. When asked why the change was being requested an anonymous team source stated that since the University of Phoenix has started having graduates interviewing in red socks that the proud franchise image was being tarnished by illiterates claiming they have work place skills because they completed a team charter. Corporate America now has a negative impression of Red Sox and team merchandise sales have plummeted.

Interesting that a schools that touts it's undefeated football team's record could have such an impact on Major League Baseball.
