If you have been let go do not worry, most of our resources have very good reputation and we acquire great skills so I would not be worried at all here. You'll find something else and you'd be able to move on. Make sure your resume is up to date and make sure you connect with folks on linked in - recruiters will find you and you'll be able to move on without issues. You'll see that working for other companies is easier than working for Merck as the expectations are lower. You also might end up getting paid more, we think that we make great money here at Merck but let me tell you that there are many competitors who pay more than we do. So, if you are laid off, do not be concerned, chin up and move on - there is life after Merck (I left in 2008).
