I left this Godforsaken place after years of watching it sink with a bunch of pompous nitwits at the helm. One of the major pitfalls of Apollo is the IT organization is very slow at what it does.
The problem is too much process gets in the way of productivity. They have some old timers in that group that are resistant to change (process) and think they own the god damn place to boot. The network, the security, the operations, the development - it is a shared environment but they treat it like they're on islands.
Hopefully after the next round of layoffs -- and there will be another round soon -- the IT teams can evolve to understand that quality may be important but not at the expense of holding up the company's progress. It would behoove the leaders to cut those process-oriented folks first and get some fresh blood in there.
